The distribution of energy saving bulbs in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District of Ashanti has been launched at Nkawie-Panin.
The programme, initiated by the Energy Foundation of the Ministry of Energy, is designed to cut down the energy consumption in the various communities.
Mr Thomas Ofori-Donkor, Atwima-Nwabiagya District Chief Executive, who performed the ceremony, said the district had been zoned into four areas namely Abuakwa, Akropong, Barekese and Nkawie.
He said 20 facilitators had been trained to lead in the distribution of the bulbs free of charge.
He said the exercise was a national affair and should not be politicised and warned that offenders would be sanctioned appropriately.Source: GNA
