Manchester United enhanced their push for the Premier League title as they beat rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford.
A dominant United went ahead when some intricate passing led to Robin van Persie converting Patrice Evra's cross.
Van Persie's flicked shot was cleared off the line by Martin Skrtel before an Evra header deflected off Nemanja Vidic as United extended their lead.
Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge slotted in after a parried save and shot high late on but United held on for the win.
