Ex-government functionaries are expected to move out of their official residences three months from December 7, 2009.
All former appointees will hand over their premises to the Chief Director at the Water Resources, Works and Housing Ministry before vacating their residences.
The Joint Transition Committee on the Transfer of Executive Assets agreed to the directive on Monday.
The statement said former government officials occupying government bungalows be paid their benefits only after they have handed over and vacated their premises.
Additionally, former Chief of Staff, Kwadwo Mpiani, is to submit a list of all state bungalows, ministerial lodges and redevelopment schemes to the sub-committee. The list will also catalogue properties that have been sold.
With respect to vehicles, the joint team agrees that the ex-ministers and government appointees may purchase one salon duty car. Cross-country vehicles and vehicles which are two years or less cannot be purchased.
The former Chief of Staff is expected to submit a list of vehicles which he sold to former ministers to guide the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority’s transfer of state vehicles to private individuals.
According to a joint transitional team, a desk will be created at the Finance Ministry to deal with the end of service benefits to ministers and appointees in accordance with the approval given by Parliament on the 6 of January, 2009.
Mr Mpiani is also expected to provide details of special projects undertaken by the previous government.
These include the Ghana@50 celebrations, the African Union Summit, UNCTAD 12 Conference, CAN 2008 as well as the construction of the Jubilee House and the rehabilitation of the Peduase Lodge.
And for the avoidance of doubt, the committee defines government appointees as officials appointed to the ministries from the Office of the President under the 1992 Constitution and those under the Presidential Staffers Law.
This includes special assistants appointed to the Ministries from the Office of the President.
