Families of victims of Tuesday's fatal accident at Bonomanso on the Kintampo-Techiman road have started identifying the dead.
In an interview with Adom News, Police Commander of the Techiman Police, Chief Superintendent Joseph Antwi Gyau said nine survivers who suffered various forms of injury were responding to treatment at the Holy Family Hospital at Techiman.
The accident occurred after a Benz bus collided head-on with an articulatored truck at about midnight.
The accident claimed 10 lives on the spot while 17 later died at the hospital.
Chief Superintendent Gyau says although investigations are underway there are no witnesses to tell of what happened before the accident; the only option according to him is to wait for the recovery of the injured and elicit statements from them.
Meanwhile Chief Superintendent Gyau has blamed what he said is an upsurge in motor accidents on that particular stretch of road to recalcitrant drivers who fail to adhere to regulations and signs.
His office, he said, will therefore intensify campaigns to reduce the number of accidents in the area.
