It took a combined rescue team of police, fire, and emergency medical personnel to remove trapped survivors from the mangled car trapped under the truck with registration GR 2768-13 to hospital.
Ejisu District Motor, Traffic and Transport Division Commander, ASP George Owusu Aboagye, who explained the cause of the accident based on preliminary investigation says the driver of the Mercedes Benz car did not attempt to save the situation.
“The driver of the Mercedes Benz car to some extent, I can say may he was may be sleeping because there was no sign of may be brake marks or whatever. He just ran into the vehicle. Meanwhile there was a triangle. Even though it was close to the vehicle, he could have at least braked so that the impact would not be too much”. Mr. Aboagye revealed.
The two vehicles have been moved from the scene to open that busy highway to traffic while the bodies of the deceased are deposited at the Juaben Government Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
