The Dunkwa-on-Offin Municipal Police has arrested a 28-year-old farmer, Kwaku Aquaye for defiling a 14-year-old girl in the bush at Nyamebekyere, near Dunkwa-on-Offin.
Superintendent Samuel Anderson Buabeng, who was speaking to the press at Dunkwa-on-Offin, said the accused earlier sent his daughter to invite the victim to accompany him to farm but the victim refused.
He said unknown to the victim Aquaye was tracking her movement on that fateful day.
Superintendent Buabeng said the victim was attending a nature’s call in a toilet at the outskirt of the village in the afternoon when Aquaye attacked and forcefully defiled her.
An eyewitness who caught Aquaye red handed in the act led the victim who was in tears to the house while Aquaye took to the bush.
Superintendent Buabeng said Aquaye would be put before court.
Meanwhile Aquaye has denied defiling the victim.
