A 46 years old farmer, Nebeyiri Dari, has clubbed to death, his 38 year old wife, Saba Chiichaa, at Kantu in the Wa West district of the Upper West region.
The two had been married for about decade.
They picked a fight last night after the woman returned from the Wechiaw market at an hour the the man deemed late.
On the heat of the arguments he inflicted multiple cudgel wounds on the woman sending her to an early grave.
According to the Wa municipal police commander, DSP Stephen Anane Boye Tetteh, the gory incident took place at Kantu in the Wa West district of the region.
Forty-six year old Nebayiri Dari is alleged to have used a cudgel to hit the chest of his thirty-eight-year-old wife and trader to death.
An eye witness - their five year old daughter - told the police that her father picked up a fight with the mother for coming late from the Wechiaw market and in annoyance used the cudgel to hit her several times till she died.
DSP Tetteh said the body was taken to the Wa regional hospital where post mortem was done on the body before he was immediately buried under strict Islamic tradition.
''Post-mortem examination showed that the woman died as a result of spinal shock and cardiogenic shock. The chest also had a puncture wound with fractures of the fourth to sixth left ribs at mid curriculum line,'' he added
The suspect was also arraigned before the Wa Circuit Court and is been remanded in to prison custody.
