A circuit court at Nsawam on Thursday remanded into prison custody Francis Kwadjo [alias Efo Kwadjo], a 44-year-old farmer at Djankrom, a suburb of Nsawam, for defiling a three-and-a-half year old girl.
Kwadjo, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement, would reappear on March 25.
Police Inspector Alex Cosmos told the Court presided over by Madam Myres Tennifer that the mother of the girl left her in the care of a tenant and went to work on Monday, March 8.
The Prosecution said that Kwadjo, who lived in the same house with the Complainant, lured the girl into his room and defiled her when the tenant left the house.
Insp. Cosmos said the tenant later saw the baby lying on the bed of the accused with seamen on her private part and blood all over her body.
The Prosecution said the Police arrested Kwadjo when he attempted to run away.
A medical report indicated that the girl was defiled.
