Filipino opponent for Ghana’s Emmanuel Tagoe in the second bout organized by Black Stars captain; Asamoah Gyan’s Baby Jet Promotions, Ronald Pontillas has arrived for the grand fight on Friday.
Pontillas arrived with his team to Ghana on Monday afternoon and will take part in lined up activities towards the fight at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The boxer from the camp of Filipino great Manny Pacquiao has assured to sell a good fight to Ghanaians through his entertaining style and of course beat Ghana’s rising boxer Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe on Friday.
“I am ready for the fight. I have prepared well for my opponent and I will give him a good fight but be sure I am here to win,” Pontillas opined with some difficulty in the English language upon arrival.
“I know he (Tagoe) is a good boxer but I believe I will stop him if the opportunity presents itself.”
Pontillas with a record of 15 wins, 5 draws with 8 knockouts was in the company of his trainer Samson Amongo and manager Brico Santin when he arrived at the Kotoka International Airport.
Also at the Airport to welcome Team Pontillas were members from the Filipino Association of Ghana (Pagkakaisa Ng Mga Pilipino Sa Ghana-PILSAG), who came with a big banner with the inscription ‘Akwaaba/Mabuhay Pontillas’.
Pontillas will join Tagoe and some of the boxers on the bill for a trip to Bukom Square to partake in activities to promote Friday’s bout which is expected to pool another impressive crowd under the Promotions owned by Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan.
