Fire caused minimal damage to parts of the Donor Clinic at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi on Sunday.
The fire occurred at the waiting room of the blood donation unit, causing damage to some furniture.
The cause of the fire is being investigated but hospital sources suspect it may have been the result of a power trip.
Public Relations Officer at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kwame Frimpong, tells Joy News the timely intervention of the fire service prevented what could have been a major disaster.
He said the damage caused was not very serious as the room did not have many equipment fitted.
