A devastating fire has destroyed a local television station, Trinity Television, and a church at Krofuom, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined as the Ghana National Fire Service begins preliminary investigations into the incident.
No casualties have been reported, but properties worth thousands of cedis have been reduced to ashes.
Apostle Collins Boadi, the owner of Trinity Television, narrated the ordeal to Joy News.
According to him, the fire started on Friday morning shortly after the station had wrapped up its morning show. Around 9:10 a.m., they were alerted to a fire emanating from a container behind the studio.
Despite efforts to salvage the situation, the flames quickly engulfed the building, which also housed a church, leaving them helpless as the fire razed everything in its path.
Apostle Boadi revealed that the newly built studio was set to be officially launched on December 31 but lamented that the dream has now been shattered.
Firefighters are continuing their investigation to ascertain the cause of the blaze.
