A foul smell at the corridors of Parliament House welcomed members on the first day of sitting after a short break for the biometric registration exercise. The repugnant smell, according to Joy News’ parliamentary correspondent Sammy Darko, was so discomforting it popped in and out of submissions on the floor. The smell appeared to emanate from one of the lavatories and got more intense in the corridor leading to the main chamber and the Speaker’s recluse. The taps were not running, but workers blamed a spraying exercise early Tuesday for the stench. The Speaker, Justice Joyce Bamford Addo complained of the choking stench on the floor of the house.Workers were busy getting the environment friendlier for the day's work. The smell notwithstanding, the Members were busy with the business of the day, which according to Sammy Darko, was pretty loaded. The House considered the Public Health Bill, with Science and Environment Minister, Madam Sherry Aryitey answering questions on the floor on what measures her ministry was taking to resolve the menace of environmental pollution.
