The Acting chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Freddy Blay is accusing government of a deliberate attempt to collapse businesses in Ashanti Region through power outages.
Mr Blay was speaking at a fundraising event organized by the NPP ahead of the November 7 elections.
He assured the teeming supporters that next year by this time and by God's grace the NPP flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo will be the president of the country.
He said the NPP leader will improve the economic conditions which have been deteriorating under the John Mahama administration.
Luv Fm’s Kofi Asante who was present reported the programme said Mr Blay did not give any evidence of the allegations he made against government except to say that the dumsor was more pronounced in the Ashanti Region than in the other regions.
He said the party will be counting on the massive support of the supporters in the region to win the upcoming elections.
According to him Kofi Asante the programme started rather late and saw low attendance. He said the programme that was due to start at around 8:30 started at around 2:00 pm.
He said given the fact that the Ashanti Region is considered the world bank of the opposition people expected a larger crowd than the number which attended.
Each of the supporters had to pay 20 cedis as gate proceed which was part of the strategy to raise funds for the party.
The Regional executives of the party claim they had sold all the tickets printed for the programme and were not too worried about the number that attended the programme.
