Cadres of the 31st December Revolution in the Brong Ahafo Region have rubbished attempts by the former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings to lay claim to the logo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to the cadres, they are stunned that the former First Lady went further to register the said logo as her bonafide intellectual property.
Spokesperson for the cadres, Ohene Gyaase told journalists in Sunyani, they are disappointed by the action.
He recalled that it was the then former assistant Brong Ahafo Regional Organizer of the Committees for Defence of the Revolution, Alhaji Kwadwo Mahama Adam, who in April and May 1992 after a consultative meeting suggested the current logo and design.
According to him, former President Jerry John Rawlings confirmed the fact at the funeral of the late Alhaji Kwadwo Mahama Adam at Baameri near Techiman.
Mr. Ohene Gyaase said the successes of the Rawlings regime was due to the contribution of his lieutenants and the progressive minded cadres.
The cadres called for a peaceful resolution of the differences in the NDC.
Former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings stirred controversy early this month when she claimed intellectual property ownership of the NDC logo.
It has since been condemned by many people within the party.
