Mali play Nigeria in the first of two semi-final matches in the ongoing AFCON 2013 in South Africa.
Mali are making their second successive semi-final appearance in the AFCON tournament and hope to book their final after 41 years since losing to Congo 3-2 in 1972.
They must first see off a gritty Super Eagle side desperate for glory in the AFCON after series of shambolic appearances in the competition.
The game is underway with Mali slightly ahead with two quick corners in the first 10 minutes.
But it is the Super Eagles who have the greatest chance to open the Nigerian account but Emenike miscued a rebound from the Mali goal keeper and Victor Moses shoots wide.
It is the Super Eagles who are up by a goal in the 25 minute courtesy Echiedike who headed from close range an immaculate cross from Victor Moses on the right.
Ideyi increased the tally with another great connection to a superb cross on the right.
It is Nigeria who are cruising to the final. But there is still more time for Mali to respond.
It is now getting embarrassing for Mali as they are down by three goals to nil.
A wicked deflection from a free-kick saw Mali goal keeper completely beaten.
Back from recess and Nigeria are continuing from where they left off in the first half.
It is four goals now thanks to Ahmed Mousa's cool finish after breaching the Mali defence.
Mousa again has his second goal ruled out for offside. It appears to be game over for Mali.
Mali gets a consolation in the 70th minute courtesy Diarra and credit must go to Diabate who beat Enyeama and set Diarra up.
Its all over. 4-1 victory for Nigeria. The Super Eagles are in the finals and they will be waiting for either Ghana or Burkina Faso.
