Gareth Bale can have no grumbles about his treatment at Real Madrid after the club wished him happy birthday and presented him with a cake.
Welsh Football's poster boy made 44 appearances for the team break down into 27 in La Liga, 12 in the Champions League and 5 in the Copa del Rey.
In addition, in his first season with the Whites he managed to become the squad’s third top goal-scorer, behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema.
The goals he scored include those in the finals of the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, which were crucial to his first titles with the Whites.
You may remember that Yaya Toure was the centre of a controversy before the World Cup when the Manchester City midfielder and his agent came out with a series of unusual complaints surrounding his birthday.
They claimed that the club had not appropriately congratulated Toure for reaching his 31st birthday.
“No. Money is not important,” said Toure's agent Dimitry Seluk in May.
"If City don’t respect him, then easy - Yaya will leave. No problem.
“He [Touré] got a cake, but when it was Roberto Carlos’s birthday, the president of Anzhi gave him a Bugatti.
“I don’t expect City to present Yaya with a Bugatti, we only asked that they shook his hand and said ‘we congratulate you’. It is the minimum they must do when it is his birthday and the squad is all together.
“Of course, Yaya is upset about this. It is his birthday and nobody said anything or shook his hand, so he does not feel comfortable.”
We don't envisage anything similar coming from Bale any time soon
