A gas shortage is reported to have hit some parts of the country. With Christmas just a day away, the high demand for the product for both domestic and commercial purposes for the festivities is being blamed for the shortage.
Long queues are said to have been formed at most filling stations.
Rafik Salam reports from the Upper West region that for the past two weeks, gas dispensing stations have been without the commodity.
He said dealers are hoping that they will stock before the Christmas festivities.
In the Ashanti region, Correspondent Elton John Brobbey said the situation is worsening by the day.
He said the Ashanti Regional capital Kumasi had suffered from gas shortage since Monday and that two stations with the product had seen long winding queues.
In the Central region however Richard Kojo Nyarko reports the situation appears to be under control.
The National Petroleum Authority meanwhile tells Joy Business the shortage could be attributed to panic buying.
Steven Larbie, who is the Public Affairs Manager said the shortage was artificial as a result of the panic buying.
