President John Mahama says Ghana is seeking to deepen its partnership with India in key areas including trade, agriculture, renewable energy, digital innovation, and youth empowerment.
Speaking during a joint press conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, July 2, President Mahama said both countries had agreed on the urgency of expanding their collaboration across strategic sectors.

“We agreed on the urgency of deepening our collaboration in areas of shared strategic interest, particularly in agriculture, agribusiness and renewable energy, digital innovation, health and youth empowerment,” he said.
He commended India’s contribution to Ghana’s development through concessional loans, technical support and landmark infrastructure projects such as the Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, the Komenda Sugar Factory, the Elmina Fish Processing Plant and the Tema-Mpakadan railway line.

President Mahama further observed that India’s rapid economic growth presents opportunities for Ghana and the rest of Africa to integrate more competitively into global value chains, particularly through the African Continental Free Trade Area headquartered in Accra.
He also saluted the Indian business community in Ghana for their continued contribution to national development and described them as a vital bridge between both countries.
“As we mark this significant occasion, let us reaffirm our shared commitment to deepening a partnership founded on mutual respect, shared prosperity and the aspirations of our people,” Mahama added.
