The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has stated that the country recorded 96 more cases of Covid-19 between January 1 and 3, 2022.
This is an update on what the GHS announced on January 1. Consequently, the country’s active cases have increased from 13,567 to 13,663.
The Service noted that six more individuals died at the beginning of the year, bringing the country’s death toll to 1,319.

Also, on its website, the GHS stated that 687 new cases have been recorded. These cases were recorded in 14 out of the 16 regions in the country and the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
The Greater Accra Region led the list with 271 new cases. At the KIA, 113 new cases were recorded.
These new cases bring the country’s confirmed Covid-19 cases to 149, 367 since the emergence of the virus in March, 2020.
So far, a total of 134,385 people have been discharged and 1,319 people have died.
