The Ghana Revenue Authority says it has already put in place strategies to ensure that it meets its revenue target for this year. Government is hoping to collect 17 billion cedis in taxes through the revenue authority. This represents a little over 50 percent increase on its 2012 target which stood as 11.2 billion cedis. There are however doubts about the GRA’s ability to meet the target considering the fact that it is a huge jump over last year’s. But its Board Chair, Ernest Kwesie is confident their strategies will yield the desired results. “We have already prepared our plans and strategies; we are widening the tax net, we have broken down the target which has been given to our various stations and collections…and we trust their ability to perform.”
