A presidential staffer at the office of the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Halidu Haruna has called for the resignation of the Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company Limited, Mr. Kweku Botwe.Alhaji Halidu Haruna claimed that “if a common commodity like water cannot be provided by the good people of Ghana under the management of Kweku Botwe then he (Kweku Botwe) is not fit to be the Managing Director for the company”.He noted that acute water shortage that has recently hit the nation’s capital is an indication that the Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company is incompetent and should therefore vacate his seat.Alhaji Halidu Haruna said this when contributing to a panel discussion on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Monday on the acute water shortage that has hit residence in Tema, Nungua, Lashibi, Ashiaman and some parts of Accra for five days."Kweku Botwe you are really disappointing the people of Ghana, if such things are going on, then some of us will stick our neck out and call for your exit.""This responsibility has been entrusted in your hands to be able to provide water, if you cannot, pack out from the seat and allow another person to come and demonstrate competence and provide water for the people of Ghana," Alhaji Halidu Haruna stressed.
