Washington Mandela Fellow and the Chair of the Committee on Gender and Social Protection of the African Youth and Governance Conference (AYGC) 2016, Princess Sekyere will lead a team of five African female professionals to participate in the sixty-first session of the Commission on the Status of Women to be held from the 13th – 24th March 2017 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
Princess Sekyere together with team members from Nigeria, Zambia, Kenya and Tanzania will share AYGC Resolutions on gender and women economic empowerment on the global stage.
The largest annual women’s conference will bring together women activists, national ministries on women and several non-governmental organizations concerned about women and girls.
The AYGC Resolutions are formal statements of opinions proposed by Conference delegates on how to deal with specific issues on the African continent.
Convener of the Conference, Youth Bridge Foundation annually brings together African Youth Leaders to interrogate critical continental and global issues of relevance to youth development in Africa
Princess Sekyere who is the Head of Corporate Affairs at Mcottley Holdings and also the founder of the Princess Sekyere Mission (PSM), a non-governmental organization which nurtures girls and young women in urban poor areas, said “We consider it a great privilege to share the Committees Resolutions on the global stage. We are hopeful that these resolutions would be adopted by organizations”.
She thanked the founder of the Youth Bridge Foundation, Seth Oteng for the great initiate in creating a platform for African Youth to share their opinions on issues.
