Cape Coast Ghatel Ladies made mince meat of Abura-Dunkwa Real Maidens when they whipped them 9-0 in the Central Region Women’s League match played at Abura-Ayeldu.
Evergreen Mary Baidoo and Agnes Quaye were among some of the players who were instrumental ensuring that Ghatel Ladies chalked the sweet victory as they scored a hat trick each in each half of the match.
From the onset of the match, Ghatel Ladies took absolute control and scored three quick goals through Mary Baidoo in the 10th, 15th and 25th minutes to end the first half.
Real Maidens refused to give up as they began to prove ‘stubborn’ in the second half, but they were made to recoil into their shells by he more experienced side when Agnes Quaye added to their woes by hitting the net thrice to raise the tally to 6-0 by the 55th minute.
Ghatel Ladies continued to dictate the pace of the game and it came as no surprise when they slotted in more of the goals in the 58th, 59th and 60th minutes through Comfort Aidoo, Salamatu Husseini and Catherine Arthur to bring the final score to an incredible 9-0 score line.
