Angry workers of the ailing national carrier – Ghana International Airlines Friday afternoon besieged the premises of the company demanding to know their fate from managers.
The managers were reported to be locked up in a meeting with leaders of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union to try and resolve concerns of the workers.
Earlier in the week, the board of GIA told 140 of the workers to go home because it could not pay their salaries.
This appeared not to have gone down well with some of the workers who are demanding to know what becomes of their unpaid salaries.
The police, some of the workers confirmed to Joy News surrounded the offices, ostensibly to maintain law and order.
It is not clear what might have prompted the security presence there.
