Veteran broadcaster, Gifty Anti, has revealed that due to confirmed cases of the deadly Corona Virus Infection (Codvid19) in parts of Italy, a seminar she was scheduled to attend has been cancelled.
Italy is among European countries currently battling the zoonotic disease believed to have originated from China’s Hubei province.
Italy on Tuesday confirmed the 11th death of a patient from Codvid19 whilst on Wednesday the number of overall cases rose to over 320 up from just 6 last Friday.
Nine of those who have died were in the northern region of Lombardy, which is easily the region most affected by the region.
Bologna, the city that Gifty Anti, also a marriage counsellor and motivational speaker, was scheduled to attend the event is also in the northern part of Italy.
The renowned former broadcaster explained on her Facebook page that the marriage seminar with the Church of Pentecost in Italy was cancelled because all public gatherings have been banned.
The coronavirus situation in Italy
Italy has confirmed the 11th death of a patient from coronavirus whilst on Wednesday the number of overall cases rose to over 320 up from just 6 last Friday.
Nine of those who have died were in the northern region of Lombardy, which is easily the region most affected by the virus.
Two other victims were from the region of Veneto in the northeast of Italy.
Lombardy's main city is Milan, but it is also home to tourist towns like Bergamo and Como in the north.
By Wednesday, some 240 cases of coronavirus had been confirmed in the region.
One person in Rome is confirmed to have made a full recovery.
According to WHO, more than 80 per cent of patients infected with the virus are mild and recovering.
Although Italy appears to be in the grip on a coronavirus emergency, with several towns on lockdown, not all of the country is affected by the illness, authorities have said.
