I'm really excited this week. The sugar Project is underway and gaining momentum. We're getting ready to hit the road with our regional tour, and every hour, Ghanaians like you are calling and writing to us every single day, to join the Sugar Project family. We're waiting for you to make it complete, so get on board today!
I'm also excited about my book, Messages From The Morning man. It's out this week, and for anyone who wants to be better in 2015, add this to your collection.
It wasn't easy writing this book, but I had a lot of help. When I was writing the acknowledgements page, I wanted to thank every single person I knew. From the security guard who helps me park my car in the morning, to the woman outside the publishers' office last week who gave me an envelope for free… I didn't want anyone who has been a part of this amazing journey of mine to think that I was ungrateful. That would really bother me.
I have always believed that we cannot afford the cost of being on earth, let alone pay the bill for the blessings we receive while we are here.
My friends, life is like a supermarket with God as the security guard. Every time someone does you a good turn, every time something goes your way, every time you have a problem and someone solves it, every time you pray to God for a heavenly miracle, and He sends you an earthly response, every time you are blessed, it's like putting something you know can't afford into your shopping basket in life's supermarket.
Every day, you fill your basket to the brim with all kinds of blessings, and favour. All manner of things whose value is far above and beyond what you can foot the bill for in your lifetime. Your health. Your job. Your wealth. Your children. Your family. Your talents. Your knowledge. Your life. All these things which grow for you every day while others just like you, lose them in the blink of an eye. All these things you know you could never pay for, but always take for granted.
And when you wake up every morning - just like you did today, and you look around you and see that none of these things were lost overnight, and that you have been permitted to enter a new day with them, it's just as if God the security guard has let you walk out of the door with your heavy basket of goodies, even though He knows you can't afford it. And then he lets you back in to start filling your basket again. Every single day.
My people, we just can't afford the blessings God allows us to get away with every day, so the least we can do is remember to say Thank You to the people He uses to bless us, like shop assistants, showing us the correct aisle where we can find what we want, or reaching up to the top shelf to take it for us to put in our basket. The very least we can do is say Thank You, and keep on shopping.
My name is Kojo Yankson, and I wouldn't be me without you. So Thank You, and…
GOOD MORNING, GHANAFO!
