Black Stars defender Lee Addy believes God will finally decide who makes it in the 23-man squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil this June.
He told Joy News that although players have a responsibility to be in good shape to catch the eye of coach Kwesi Appiah, ultimately " God will decide who will go".
Versatile defender Lee Addy is now a player of Dinamo Zagreb in the Croatian league but has been absent from the team the last nine months but he is optimistic of gatecrashing the final squad.
"Of course I can make the squad. We have a lot of players. It doesn't mean those who played the qualifiers are automatically qualified to go to the World Cup. There are a lot of guys fighting to come back", he said.
The days are sprinting to this year’s World Cup in Brazil and Ghanaian players want to take advantage of the January transfer window to make moves that will earn them regular playing time.
Already, strikers Jordan Ayew and Abdul Majeed Waris have signed for French Ligue 1 clubs Sochaux and Valenciennes on loan.
Versatile wingback Samuel Inkoom has joined Greek top-flight side Platanias FC on a six-month loan spell for more game time.
Elsewhere, midfielder Mohammed Rabiu, who recovered from an injury before the winter break in the Russian League, says he is worried about losing position as a starter in the Black Stars.
The FC Kuban missed out on the two-legged playoff against Egypt and looks like he has lost the starting berth to Michael Essien.
Rabiu told Joy Sports his preoccupation is to make the final 23-man squad for the World Cup and not a starting role.
