Government says it has no difficulty implementing recommendations in the report on alleged fraudulent deals at Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA).
Deputy Information Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu says President John Mahama's commitment to radically ensure GYEEDA is transformed, is indicative of his desire to abide by the recommendations.
The five-member committee chaired by Mr. Ferdinand Gunn tasked to investigate the alleged corruption at GYEEDA, submitted its report to the President last week. It followed a Joy News’ investigations into the award of dubious contracts by GYEEDA.
Some civil society groups including social commentators are heaping pressure on government to make the report public and end speculation about its authenticity.
But at the Daily Media briefing at the Presidency Monday, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu said it is only fair the President is given time to study the report and take action on it.
"If government had a difficulty implementing the recommendations in the report, the President would not have made that commitment...We must also understand that governance is a bit more complex than just pandering to media reports and commentary ran by persons outside government," he said.
