There are doubts over the start date of the publicized national census.
The exercise was scheduled to start on the 26th of this month, but Joy News can report that the country’s development partners are yet to release funds they promised for the exercise.
Some 62 million Ghana cedis is required for the exercise. Half of that is supposed to come from donors whilst the government of Ghana pays the remainder.
Joy checks reveal that government has already released the 30million dollars it is expected to pay, but the donors are yet to honour their side of the bargain.
According to the Finance Ministry, just a little over one million dollars has been released by the Development Partners.
