Government has confirmed the arrest of a Ghanaian woman at Heathrow Airport in London for drug trafficking but has denied she held a diplomatic passport.
News broke over the weekend that 32-year old Nayeli Ametefeh said to be carrying cocaine was arrested and charged with attempting to import the class A drug to the UK.
She was alleged to been travelling with a diplomatic passport and linked to President John Mahama.

According to him the 37 year-old woman "does not hold a diplomatic passport and was not acquainted with the first family."
Although details of Nayali Ametefeh's bust are sketchy, she was reported to be carrying cocaine weighing 12.5kg valued at several hundred thousand pounds.
