Government says it is putting together a comprehensive business proposal that would get foreign investors to revamp three abandoned factories in the Upper East region.
This plan follows agitation by some youth in the region who accused government of feet-dragging in revamping the meat, tomato and rice factories in the region.
According to the youth, the factories, established in the 1960s, have been left to rot despite several promises by successive governments to revamp them.
Upper East regional Minister, Alhaji Limuna Muniru, told Joy News he expects a breakthrough with the plans to resuscitate the factories by the end of this year.
According to him, a group of Indian investors have already expressed interest in the meat factory.
