A night security guard who was allegedly assaulted by a group of students of the Berekum Senior High School (BESS) in the Bono Region has appealed for expeditious police investigations and to serve him justice.
Kwame Ernest, in an interview at Berekum, said he was allegedly assaulted by a group of students during an inter-school football match.
He said the incident happened last Wednesday, February 11, 2028, at night, and that he was admitted to the Berekum Holy Family Catholic Hospital for medical attention.
Narrating his ordeal, Mr Ernest said about eight students confronted and questioned him about why he was strictly enforcing the school’s rules and regulations, preventing students from leaving the school premises at night.
Mr Ernest said without any provocation, his alleged attackers, wearing face masks, subjected him to severe beatings using pieces of wood and other offensive materials that left him unconscious.
“I just realised that I was on admission at the hospital,” he stated, flimsy in a voice.
He said that he was able to identify some of his attackers and called on the police to speed up their investigations and to bring the suspects to book.
Mr Ernest said some of the school's authorities, including the headmaster, visited him at the hospital.
