Guinness, the Official Beverage Sponsor of the Black Stars, has announced a series of activities to give fans the opportunity to show their solidarity for the senior national team throughout the 2013 AFCON tournament.
As the Black Stars embark on their journey to South Africa for the start of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, Guinness, the Official Beverage Sponsor of the team, has announced a series of activities to give fans the opportunity to show their solidarity for the Senior National Team throughout the tournament.
The nation’s number one premium beer brand, Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, launched the “KICK FOR THE STARS”, ‘Give the Stars your Hi5’ and ‘Football Jersey Fridays’ at a media event, which was attended by representatives of Ghana Football Association (GFA), former Black Stars players like C.K. Akunnor and a host of football enthusiasts.
At the event, Guinness called upon football fans across the nation to join the company in these activities to show their support for the Black Stars.
Speaking at the launch, the Marketing Director of Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL), Agnes Essah said, “GUINNESS is the Official Beverage Sponsor of the Black Stars and our entire team is committed to supporting the national team as they head to South Africa for this year’s AFCON tournament. These activities are to get the nation to join us and show that, like the team here at GGBL, they too are backing the national side on their journey”.
“We are now calling on all football fans and employers across Ghana to join us in these activities, whether it is kicking a ball, giving the Stars your hi-5 on our giant ball, or by wearing your football jersey to work each Friday to show the Stars your solidarity. We want to get the entire nation backing the Black Stars, and wish them the very best of luck at the tournament.”
