It has been revealed that Ghana striker Asamaoh Gyan is likely to spend two weeks on the sidelines because of a right knee injury.
The in-form Black Stars forward missed last Sunday's clash with Le Mans in the French top flight because of the setback.
He suffered the injury during training on Saturday and was forced to withdraw because of the pain.
Rennes have now revealed that the striker is suffering from inflammation in his right knee.
Gyan has improved tremendously at the club but his stay with Rennes has been dogged by injuries.
The duration of his incapacity has not been disclosed.
