A heavy rainstorm is expected to hit the country in the next few hours, a report from the Ghana Meteorological Department indicates.
The storm is expected to affect the eastern border towns of Aflao, Dzodzeku and Hohoe, between 12:30 pm 1:00 pm today.
Greater Accra, Koforidua, Nkawkaw and Konongo are are expected to experience the storm between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm whilst Cape Coast and Kumasi will experience it between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
An official at the Ghana Meteorological Department, Togbe Fiameko, speaking to Joy News, described the storm as severe and said it had already delivered a heavy downpour in Lome where it had lasted for some three hours.
He warned the coastal areas in the country would be the hardest hit.
