There appears to be no end in sight yet for the erratic power supply which has angered residents of Takoradi in the Western Region.
The whole country is currently experiencing a load-shedding regime as a result of limited supply of power but residents of Takoradi say their challenge is even worse.
The residents of Takoradi have been complaining that ECG has been unable to adhere to the timetable it published last week.
Some of them who spoke to Radio Maxx’s Francis Whajah said the situation negatively affecting their businesses.
"That dumsor-dumsor is causing a lot of problems," one of the residents said, adding the government of the day must be up and doing.
The ECG officials in the region say they are unable to deal with the problem.
The Regional Manager of the ECG, Kofi Afewu told Joy News' Francis Abban the situation is beyond their control and consumers must be ready to endure.
He blamed the electricity transmitters, Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), for the challenges the residents are facing. He said he does not recieve any favorable response from GRIDCo anytime he alerts the officials of the company about the challenges residents were facing.
He admitted that the load shedding timetable is not working but said GRIDCo would have to be blamed.
When asked if he was expecting residents to endure the challenges Takoradi residents were facing, Mr Amewu said: "Exactly so." He does not know when the situation will normalise.
He pleaded with the residents to bear with them.
