Head of the Conflict Prevention Management and Resolution Department (CPMRD) of the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), Dr Kwesi Anning says football administrator Herbert Mensah must render an unqualified apology to President Mills if he cannot provide any evidence to the security agencies to substantiate his claim that President Mills intends spending GHC90 million on his campaign for the flag-bearership of the NDC.
Dr. Anning said an allegation such as the one made by Mr Herbert Mensah is of national interest since it poses a threat to the economy, and called on Mr. Mensah who is a close associate of the Rawlingses, to prove his allegation or apologise to the president.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Thursday, Dr. Anning described the allegation as one of those verbal errors that Politicians sometimes make, as a means to gain trust from the people.
He said it was unfortunate Politicians in the country had not cultivated the habit of apologizing whenever they made unfounded statements.
The security expert explained that the Office of the President must be duly respected and dignified so that the President can work with a sound mind.
According to him, comments have the potential to make the President feel unsecure.
