A capacity training programme aimed at enhancing the marketing and customer care skills of small scale shoemakers in Kumasi has been organised by Horseman Shoes in collaboration with GMC Consulting.
The two-day intensive training is part of a series of programmes aimed at building the capacity of these small scale local manufacturers so as to equip them with the practical, modern and scientific methods on how to market their products as well as maintain and delight their customers.
The training also exposed the participants on how to invest in simple and less expensive technologies that will aid in their work.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of Horseman Shoes, Mr Tonyi Senayah, stated: "We also took them through work ethics as well as developing feedback channels and database of their clients which in the long run would help improve their products."
Mr Tonyi Senayah was grateful to the Skill Development Fund of COTVET for supporting them and other organizations in their skills development programme.
Horseman Shoes is a Ghanaian based footwear manufacturing company. Horseman Shoes seeks to provide to the Ghanaian working class quality footwear that reflect their status, taste and identity.
It aims to create a product locally and thereby creating an avenue for the young men and women with the skill in craftsmanship and arts to explore their talents and abilities to fulfill their dreams
Participants at the training were grateful for the opportunity and requested for such training at least twice a year. They also requested for mentorship programme with other established footwear companies in and outside Ghana so as to sharpen their skills.Some achievements
Horseman Shoes won the Global Professional Achievers Young Entrepreneur 2011 Award
Horseman Shoes was one of the 10 finalists of “MY BUSINESS 2010”, a Joy FM young entrepreneurial mentorship program.
Horseman Shoes was a prize winner in the 2010/2011 UT/Enablis Business Launchpad competition to unearth young entrepreneurs.
