Prostitution is illegal in Ghana. However many of the girls who have chosen to be sex workers claim the harsh economic conditions have forced them into a job of offering sex for money.
These girls are often victims of abuse, and most of them live in fear and suffer stigma from society.
This week on Hotline Kwaku Owusu Peprah takes us behind the curtain, into the minds of sex workers who parade the red light districts in our towns and cities.
