Have you ever been in love and thought nothing can touch you or your man? Suddenly, you get a call or a text and you feel an itch. There’s a bug in your ear! And it’s usually another woman who is after your man.
Some women just don’t know how to take no for an answer, especially when he’s already in a relationship….with you. There are a few ways to deal with these pests so they keep their antennas off your man.
Confront Her
The most rudimentary rule is to confront them. If there’s a girl who is deliberately trying to ruin your relationship by flirting or overtly hitting on your man, let her know that you won’t stand for it. Don’t allow her to create any problems in your relationship, because that’s exactly what she’s trying to do. By allowing her to carry on, you’re condoning her disrespectful behavior. Let her know from the beginning that her winks andflirtatious remarks are unacceptable.
Remain a Lady
If she continues with her pesky behavior, remain a lady. As upset as you may become, you are better than theatrics and cat fights. The better solution is to distance yourself from her altogether, especially if she is afriend. No “friend” should make eyes at your man. If she’s a coworker, don’t mingle with her at office parties. Your man may also have to stay at home during your work events.
Tell Your Man
If your partner is not fully aware of the situation, let him know. He may not have noticed, as many men don’t. Or he did and felt uncomfortable so he didn’t say anything. If it’s one of his friends, he has a choice to make: talk to her and tell her to stop, or cut the chord. If someone is bringing toxic energy into your relationship, it’s best they aren’t involved in your lives.
Why The Pests Are There
It’s really important to understand why these pests keep buzzing around your relationship. They are usuallywomen who haven’t experienced amazing relationships of their own. They see how well your partner treats you and want the same. They are unhappy that you’re happy and in a stable relationship. Pests are subject to act out on sheer jealousy.
So, wish her the best of luck and send her positive vibes. Maybe she’ll eventually have a solid relationship of her own and realize how terrible her behavior was toward you and your relationship. As for your relationship, overcoming this obstacle will only make it stronger. Have confidence in your relationship and something as miniscule as a pest will eventually die off.
