The Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency, Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has disclosed that he is one of the original formation members of the highlife group Lumba Brothers.
Speaking in an interview on Joy FM's Personality Profile, Thursday May 27, he revealed that he met the ace highlife musicians in Germany in the 80s.
Mr Kokofu, recounting how he came across the duo musicians said, “I was a young man wanting to explore and out of curiosity I left for Germany, Berlin in 1985.
"I got to Berlin in March in just about two weeks, then Daddy Lumba (Charles Kwadwo Fosu) and Nana Acheampong and co, also came in, so we met and converged at a point and lived together as brothers. So I was an originator, part of the Lumba brothers.”
He said the brothers had started music at the time they met adding that the names of he and his wife were mentioned in the famous “Yɛɛ Yaa Aka Akwantuomu” album.
The Executive Director said because he wasn’t very good at music, he declined an offer to join the duo in their music career. However, he supported the duo in prayers and guided them as they blossomed into stardom.
“I don’t have it (music talent). So I told Charles I will pray for you guys, I will be with you, guide you. I simply can’t do it,” he said.
