Telecoms Analyst, Fouad Chalabi is attributing Ghana’s outstanding international rating in mobile broad-band penetration to the increasing use of smart-phones in the country.
An International Telecoms Union report ranked Ghana as the first in Africa with more people using or connected to mobile broadband.
The report revealed that usage has increased substantially with about 14 percent of the population now using broadband.
Ghana was also acknowledged for having the lowest prices in Africa.
Mr. Chalabi tells Joy Business the report is a true reflection on the ground, despite concerns by some subscribers.
He however adds that there are still some areas that need some improvements despite this good report card.
