Rapper Eno Barony was surprised to miss out on a nomination for the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The musician in an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM said she submitted two of her songs in the year under review namely ‘Don’t Judge Me’ and ‘Finish Line’ for consideration.
However, with the tough competition in the awards scheme, Eno Barony’s songs did not make the final cut.
She told Doreen Avio on Friday that “awards don’t define me; Eno will still be Eno. It hurts because I have worked and I deserve to be recognised but in all, we work harder.”
“My songs have done very well in the year under review. Check the online charts, my songs have topped almost everywhere.”
Eno Barony joked that possibly the title of her song ‘Don’t Judge Me’ played a role in her snub.
She explained, “I said they shouldn’t judge me and they didn’t so they took me out.”
The 2023 VGMA nominees were released on March 19 with the likes of Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, Camidoh, Piesie Esther and Joe Mettle in the run for Artiste of the Year award.
