Ghana midfielder Isaac Cofie is hoping to return to the national team ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations next January in Gabon.
The Chievo Verona on loan player at Carpi received his debut call-up under former coach Kwasi Appiah during the qualifiers for the last Nations Cup.
The 21-year old has since then not played for the Black Stars but is hoping to catch Avram Grant’s attention for the 2017 tournament.
“I want to say congratulations to all the players that participated in the qualifiers, the technical team and all the officials,” he told Joy Sports
"We have great players now and whoever gets the chance proves that he deserves to be part of the team."
“So for those of us out we have to work hard and when the chance comes we come in prove ourselves.
“It is a great honour for every player to play for the national team but it is time and i hope to play well at club level and when the chance comes i will take it.”
Cofie made 32 appearances for Carpi scoring one goal.
