Newly crowned Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Footballer of the Year is partly blaming Ghana’s second defeat in four months to Zambia on questionable calls by Tunisia's Med Kordi.Zambia inflicted another painful 1-0 defeat on Ghana in a World Cup qualifier played Saturday but Andre Dede Ayew believed the story would have been different if the Tunisian was fair.Speaking to Joy Sports shortly after he was decorated SWAG Footballer of the year at a colourful ceremony in Accra, Ayew was also quick to admit his colleagues had a difficult game especially in the second half.“The way I see it is that we had a game which wasn’t bad. We had our ups and we had our downs. I just feel we need to learn from our mistakes and keep the good side of it.“We had a difficult first half and a very good second half. We just couldn’t put the ball at the back of the net.“I am disappointed and sad because I feel we could have had a draw and we all know [what] the referee [did] in the game, Andre Ayew said. With the 1-0 defeat to Zambia, the Olympic Marseille star said the Stars must now stand and be counted.“Now we need to work harder. Every game must be do or die for Ghana now,” he charged, whilst calling for support for the coach and each member of the team, irrespective of who is playing or who is not.On his award, Ayew said it is only the beginning of good things to come in the future. He promised to worker harder and attain such enviable heights especially at the international level.Andre Ayew was left out of the Zambia game due to a minor injury he suffered whilst at Marseille, but he promised to make a return hopefully next month.
