The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has strongly condemned a violent attack on the Kwame Danso District Court, calling it a direct assault on the rule of law and the integrity of the country’s justice system.

In a press statement issued by the association on Thursday, December 12, JUSAG expressed grave concern over the incident, which saw unknown assailants vandalise court property and disrupt judicial processes.

The association described the attack as "barbaric, unacceptable, and a serious threat to the administration of justice."

JUSAG noted that the increasing spate of attacks on judicial officers and infrastructure undermines not only the justice delivery system but also endangers the lives of court personnel.

The organisation reminded the public that the judiciary is a critical pillar of democracy and must be respected and protected at all costs.

"The attack on the Kwame Danso Court is not just an attack on a building—it is an attack on the justice system of Ghana," the statement, signed by National President/Chairman of the National Executive Council of JUSAG Samuel Afotey Otu, said.

JUSAG is calling on the Ghana Police Service to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to justice swiftly.

It also urged the government to increase security at court premises across the country to ensure the safety of judicial officers and staff.

JUSAG further warned that if such attacks continue without accountability, it may be compelled to advise its members to withdraw their services in unsafe jurisdictions.

The Association reaffirmed its commitment to the rule of law and called on civil society, the media, and all well-meaning Ghanaians to join in protecting the sanctity of the judiciary.
