Kevin-Prince Boateng could miss AC Milan’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur in the Uefa Champions League after he left the Olimpico against Juventus on Saturday night on crutches.
The Rossoneri will attempt to overturn their 1-0 first leg defeat in the round of 16 tie on Wednesday and Boateng had been a favourite to start against his former club.
However, he limped off at half-time during last night’s 1-0 victory away.
Boateng accidentally clashed with Felipe Melo, receiving a very hard kick to the ankle, which seemed to twist in an unnatural fashion.
He carried on playing for a few more minutes, but was replaced at the break and seems to be in poor shape.
There’s a race against time to get the Ghana international fit for Wednesday’s match at White Hart Lane.
Antonio Cassano, Mark Van Bommel and Urby Emanuelson are cup-tied, while Alexandre Pato and Massimo Oddo missed the Juventus game with flu symptoms.
Dutchman Clarence Seedorf could be given a starting spot in midfield instead.
