Admission of fresh students to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology hang in the balance, as the University administrators' strike remain in full force.
The Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) declared a nationwide strike over unresolved issues relating to the migration of its members onto the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS).
The strike which was embarked upon about two months ago has disrupted administrative, health and security services on the campuses of various public universities in the country.
The Deputy Registrar at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Vincent Ankah Lomotey, told Joy News they are struggling with just a month to the release of results of Senior High school leavers.
Luv FM’s James Humans who was at KNUST campus reported that some prospective applicants who thronged the campus expressed their frustration over the undue delay in the admission process.
Although admission letters were posted to prospective students sometime in June, some University administrators insist that the delay is as a result of West Africa Examination Council’s inability to release the results of prospective students on time.
Nevertheless the admission of fresh students remains to be seen as the GAUA strike continues unabated.
