Speedster Dong Bortey's hope of re-Iaunching his fast deteriorating career at Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been dashed.
The present Kotoko management has categorically stated that the Porcupine Warriors don't need Bortey, so the player should look elsewhere to revive his career.
Dong Bortey recently shocked Hearts fans when he vowed not to play for the club again, disclosing his desire to play for Kotoko instead.
Reacting on the issue, Alhaji Ali Maradona, a leading, Kotoko member said, The Alhaji Nje management team does not need Bortey, period!
According to him, if another Kotoko management would sign on Bortey in future so be it "but as far as this management is concerned, there is no place for Bortey in Kotoko."
Bortey, it would be recalled, dodged Kotoko at the last minute to sign for Hearts some years back.
This was after the intelligent player had assured the then Kotoko management of his desire to play for the club.
Bortey resided in Kumasi during that time, trained with the team and even received gifts including cash from Kotoko fans after which he changed his mind.
