Some children have been declared missing and scores of settlers displaced as fire destroyed about two hundred make-shift structures serving as homes at Dagomba Line.
The fire occurred Saturday evening at the slum located along the main Aboabo drain in Kumasi. The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
Some mothers who left their children in some of the structures have been searching for them but fire officers say they will have to do an audit of the blaze to establish any casualties.

This is the third major fire outbreak this year in Kumasi following a central market and Roman Hill fires.
Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor reports that the fire started around 8pm destroying a number of properties.
According to one of the victims, she went out leaving her brother’s son behind but was yet to locate the whereabouts of the five-year-old boy.

One of the victims told Joy News she returned from the market only to find the area engulfed by fire. Due to the seriousness of the fire, she said, she could not salvage any of her belongings.
Some of the displaced residents say they had to pass the night in a Mosque and Church.
Some slept on benches and uncompleted buildings nearby.
The victims are calling on the government to come to their aid as soon as possible.
